Black Cow is the world's first Pure Milk Vodka.

Made from what is left over from milk when making cheese, it has an exceptionally smooth and creamy character. Sip neat, or mix in a long drink or cocktail.

The vodka is made in West Dorset from the milk of cows that graze on the fields surrounding the Black Cow distillery, and is the original spirit to champion sustainability: it is whey, a by-product of the cheese-making process, that makes the vodka so gloriously smooth.

Dairy farmer Jason Barber and artist Paul Archard recognised the potential of whey back in 2011. By combining the ancient Mongolian tradition of making alcohol from fermented milk, with the Northern European tradition of making high proof, clear, clean vodka they were able to develop an innovative, unique and superior tasting vodka, made entirely from the milk of cows.

Made from MILK and water. Contains ALCOHOL (Strictly over 18s. Please drink responsibly, for further information please visit drinkaware.co.uk).

To store vodka, keep it in a cool, dark place, such as a pantry or liquor cabinet. It doesn't require refrigeration, as its high alcohol content prevents it from spoiling. Ensure the bottle is tightly sealed to maintain its quality. If you prefer it chilled, you can refrigerate or freeze it, as vodka doesn't freeze due to its alcohol content.

Zero Waste to Wonderful Taste – since 2012 – Black Cow is the world’s first Pure Milk Vodka. Made in West Dorset using what is left over from grass grazed cows milk after making cheese. Using milk as the only source ingredient is what makes Black Cow vodka so deliciously smooth. The invention of West Dorset dairy farmer, Jason Barber, Black Cow is designed to be sustainable. According to current research producing spirits from waste whey uses less water than grain based spirit, reduces CO2 emissions and the environmental impacts of cheese making and spirit production. Black Cow is based on a farm in the heart of West Dorset, a cross-country ramble several miles from Beaminster. They like to keep things simple so they do most things there on the farm. Jason’s 250-strong herd of dairy cows graze on nearby fields and their vodka is distilled and bottled at the farm by hand. Black Cow also have a Bar & Kitchen where they host tastings, workshops and other events. At Black Cow they know milk is precious, so they don’t waste a drop. It starts with separating the milk into curds and whey. The curds make the cheese but, often, the whey ends up going to waste. We take that whey and, using a secret distilling process, turn it into the ‘world’s smoothest vodka’. So smooth you can drink it till the cows come home. Perfect to sip neat or mix in a long drink or cocktail. (Please note - every effort is taken to ensure the vintage displayed is the vintage supplied, but due to constantly refreshed stock the vintage supplied may vary).
