Simple Steak Marinade

Worcestershire Sauce and garlic add ‘zing’ to this quick, easy-to-prepare marinade, designed to bring out the best in your barbecued beef steaks. You can use a ‘light’ Soy Sauce to keep salt levels down if preferred. Recipe sufficient to marinade 4 steaks.

Ingredients

3 Garlic Cloves (crushed or finely chopped)
2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Light Olive Oil
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 tsp Ground Black Pepper

Method
Put all the ingredients into a high-sided mixing bowl and stir well to combine (if you have a large, screw-top jar handy, you can put the ingredients into it, put the lid on and then shake it vigorously). Place your steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, then cover the dish and refrigerate until needed – if you can turn the meat regularly, this will help the marinade do its job; ideally, leave the steaks in the marinade for at least a couple of hours before barbecuing.
