Scallops and butter are a match made in heaven. With this in mind, our Fishmonger Ethan and his team have created this scallop starter dish; flavoured with Cajun infused butter, it's supplied ready-prepared - simply pop it in the oven for 10 minutes then serve.

Greendale Scallop (MOLLUSC), Cajun seasoning and butter (MILK).

Place in the centre of a preheated oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. Take care when handling the shells as they can become extremely hot.

Our fishing vessels work out of Exmouth, Brixham and Newlyn, and operate in accordance with the Seafood Responsible Fishing Scheme. They keep us well topped up most days with a selection of fresh fish and shellfish, and a catch can often be on its way to the Greendale farm shop within hours of leaving the sea. If we can’t catch it ourselves, we source only from trusted suppliers with standards as high as our own. The fish available may vary, depending on the season, but a delicious variety is always to be found on our fish counter. From whole fish to fillets, live lobsters to shrimp, our wide selection is sold in a choice of portion sizes and prepared for your convenience by our skilled fishmongers.

Each Scallop has a pair of pretty fan-shaped shells as immortalised by Sandro Botticelli’s painting, The Birth of Venus, between which lie the firm white flesh and the cream and orange coral or roe. Low in cholesterol and high in protein, vitamins and minerals, Scallops are a healthy and delicious treat.
