Using a secret recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation, Oakwell Black Puddings are made with fresh pigs’ blood, as in times past. Savoury and delicious, this Pudding Ring is perfect sliced and fried as part of a traditional ‘Full English’ breakfast.

Pigs’ blood (33%), Cooked PEARL BARLEY, Pork fat (17%), BARLEY FLOUR, Bacon (4%), Pork (85%), Water, Salt, Preservatives (Sodium nitrite, Sodium nitrate), Antioxidant (Sodium ascorbate), Rusk (Fortified WHEAT FLOUR [WHEAT flour, Calcium carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin], Salt, Raising agent [Ammonium carbonate]), Fortified WHEAT flour (WHEAT flour, Calcium carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Herbs, Spices, Dried onion. *Please note: casing is not edible*.

Black Pudding can be boiled, or cut into slices and fried or grilled. It’s a great in fry_ups, super with potatoes and also complements Scallops beautifully.

Store in fridge and consume within 2-3 days of receipt, or freeze immediately. Suitable for freezing. All items are labelled with use by dates.

Black Pudding was first made as an economical way to use up the plentiful animal blood produced by slaughter, ensuring that this nutrient-rich food source did not go to waste. A much-loved UK tradition, similar ‘blood sausages’ can also be found throughout Europe, such as the Spanish Morcilla.
