Our Venison comes from locally sourced wild deer, their free-range lifestyle and mixed, varied diet imparting delicious flavour to the meat they produce. Hand-trimmed by the Greendale master butchers, these tender boneless steaks are quick and easy to cook.

100% Venison

To pan-fry, heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Add the steaks and cook for four to five minutes on each side, ensuring the surface of the meat is cooked thoroughly.

Store in fridge and consume within 2-3 days of receipt, or freeze immediately. Suitable for freezing. All items are labelled with use by dates.

In the game season, our local supplier (based in mid-Devon) keeps us well stocked with carefully hung and matured venison.

Compared with beef, venison is lower in fat and calories, and higher in iron and vitamin B. The meat has a finer texture, and very little marbling. Because venison is low in fat, an oil-based marinade pre-cooking will help the steaks to retain moisture.
