Summer Dining @ Greendale

Summer has well and truly arrived in Devon, with the happy prospect of warmer, lighter and longer days stretching ahead for months to come. Here at Greendale Kitchen, Greendale Farm Shop’s café/restaurant, we’re the perfect spot to while away a sunny evening; relaxed and comfortable, our tables are available inside and out (patio heaters keep things cosy as the sun sets). Available from Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm until late, our evening menu is often built around the fresh, local produce we sell in the Farm Shop, showcasing our butchers, fishmongers and Deli departments. Children are welcome at Greendale Kitchen, and can enjoy choosing from their own menu; we also offer meals to suit a range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian and gluten-free. 

Greendale Kitchen was recently included in OpenTable’s Top 100 UK Restaurants for Outdoor Dining 2026 – while we don’t usually like to blow our own trumpet, this recognition means a lot to us as it’s based on real customer reviews. We’re so delighted our customers are happy – why not come along and see for yourself what all the fuss is about! 

Sunshine Starters 

Get your meal off to a sunny start! Our evening menu features plenty of classic summer starters, including freshly-made calamari, moules mariniere made with scrumpy and garlic, and creamy whipped ricotta with homemade focaccia and herb pesto. 

Moreish Mains 

Moving on to mains, there are plenty of delicious dishes to try. Our ever-popular prime beef steaks are produced by our own farm; from classic fillet and sirloin to the Greendale Giant (a 20oz rump steak) and even a steak baguette, there’s plenty to keep committed carnivores happy! Our seafood dishes also lend themselves effortlessly to relaxed summer dining, including grilled locally-caught lemon sole, tasty Scallop St. Jacques and (a perennial favourite) local lobster with roast garlic butter.  
With a lighter, Mediterranean feel, our vegetarian main dishes are also perfect for summer dining. Why not try shakshuka, a tomato and vegetable stew served with poached egg and salad; pappardelle pasta in a spinach and herb sauce, with rocket and parmesan; or a classic halloumi burger? Whatever you choose, rest assured that it’s likely to be accompanied by a spectacular East Devon sunset! 

A Glass of Something Chilled? 

Sit back and enjoy the sunshine with our summer drinks menu. There’s plenty to choose from, including beer and ale from local legends Powderkeg and Exeter Brewery, as well as our own Greend’ale, plus proper Devon cider from Annings and our much-loved Greendale Scrumpy. Classic summer tipples include Pimms made the traditional way, our celebratory Greendale Mimosa and old favourite Espresso Martini, and we also offer a selection of quirky-but-delicious cocktails, including the Devon Donkey (a Westcountry take on the Moscow Mule, made with Greendale vodka and Jolly’s Cornish ginger beer), the Strawberry Quackquiri, and – especially apt at this time of year – the Greendale Sunset, made with Greendale vodka, freshly-squeezed orange juice and a dash of ice-cold strawberry slushie.  
We’ve also updated our low- and no-alcohol drinks selection. Alongside reliable favourites like Peroni 0% and Cornish Doombar Ale 0%, we’re really pleased to offer 0% Red Zero Cider from Devon-based Sandford Orchard and Darkness 0.5% stout from Exeter Brewery. We’ve updated our wine list, too; alongside a carefully chosen selection of excellent local and international wines, you’ll also find alcohol-free Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from Divin, and 0% Chardonnay from De Martino. 

Offers 

Our popular weeknight special offers will continue throughout the summer, from 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesday nights, enjoy a burger, chips and a drink for £14; on Wednesdays we're offering 2 for 1 on our delicious fish of the day and chips; and on Thursday nights, steak lovers can enjoy 20% off selected Greendale prime beef steaks.  

We’re currently also offering our special 32oz Greendale Tomahawk sharing steak for just £75 for two. This prime bone-in Greendale beef steak is a true show-stopper; cooked to your liking, it’s served alongside new potatoes, roasted seasonal vegetables, tomatoes and mushrooms with a creamy peppercorn sauce.
