Supporting the Farming Community
Greendale has chosen to support The Addington Fund, a farming charity in England and Wales that provides support to farmers and the rural community through various means, including disaster relief, housing, and grants. The Fund aims to help farmers stay in their chosen rural environments, and to support farming families and ensure the long-term sustainability of the countryside.
The Addington Fund
One of Greendale's chosen charities for 2024/25, The Addington Fund was first established in Suffolk in 2001, to support the local farming community through the devastating consequences of swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease. Today, the Fund works nationally to provide farmers in need with immediate disaster relief (including animal feed or services) and also to give longer-term support, in the form of affordable housing for those who have retired or have had to leave farm tenancies, and find themselves facing a choice between homelessness or leaving the countryside they know and love. This valuable work with the farming community makes the Addington Fund a cause close to Greendale's heart.

Charitable Giving
Every 12 months (April-March), Greendale's Charitable Giving Committee selects community groups or charities to support. We will work with each of our chosen charities throughout the year to determine how we can best provide this support, including (but not limited to) making donations, participating in fundraising activities, providing equipment or other support, and volunteering. We also encourage our staff to volunteer their time and expertise to help our chosen charities. Organisations eligible for the Charitable Giving scheme include charities, schools and relevant community groups. Our committee will consider any requests submitted, and each year the Charitable Giving Committee will choose new organisations to support for the next 12 months. If you are part of an eligible organisation and would like it to be considered for support from Greendale's Charitable Giving scheme, please contact us.
