Our Top 5 Stews & Casseroles

Slow-cooked and brimming with seasonal flavour, we find stews, casseroles, ghoulash (anything that's delivered to the plate via ladel, really) to be the ultimate comfort food when the temperature starts to drop. We've gathered our top 5 'savoury simmering' recipes to help you get inspired this Autumn.

1. Chicken & Butterbean Stew

Savoury and satisfying, this light chicken stew is high in protein and full of tasty veg. Relatively quick to make, it’s great for a simple midweek meal – you can have it on the table in about half an hour.

2. Warming Braised Venison

Rich, warming and delicious, this generously-sized dish is great for entertaining.

3. Monkfish Bourride with Aïoli

Originally from the Provence region of France, this fish stew is flavoured with a wonderfully aromatic garlic sauce, aïoli – if you have any extra aioli, it’s delicious spread on crusty bread. We’ve used monkfish here, but most firm-fleshed white fish would also be fine.

4. Moroccan Fish Stew

Inspired by the classic Moroccan Tagine, this spicy, warming stew is just the ticket for cold evenings.

5. Pork & Lemon Casserole

Made with fresh lemon zest and simmered ‘low and slow’, this simple but delicious recipe produces a mouth-wateringly tender finished dish.
