A NEW SEASON
As the clocks go forward and longer, lighter days make a welcome return, why not come and enjoy our new evening menu here at Greendale Kitchen, Greendale Farm Shop’s popular restaurant. Our evening menu is available Tuesday - Saturday from 4pm until late, with tables available inside and out (the patio heaters help keep things cosy as the sun sets), ready to welcome you into a relaxed and comfortable dining experience. Children are welcome, and can enjoy choosing from their own menu; we also offer meals to suit a range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian and gluten-free.
TALENTED CHEFS
Our skilled team of chefs, lead by Dec and Sam, use produce from the Farm Shop - including beef from our farm and seafood from our fishing boats - to create a unique and delicious evening menu full of new dishes and old favourites. Dec and Sam have a strict ‘low waste’ ethos, ensuring that all of this lovely produce is put to the best use possible; for example, herbs that don’t make it as garnishes are used in pestos and herb oils, leek trimmings are used to infuse oil for dressings, spare cuts of meat are used in pies (with bones used to make stocks and gravies) and leftover bread is used to make croutons. They even use odds and ends of vegetables to make their own kimchi!

OLD FAVOURITES & NEW IDEAS
This spring, you’ll find tasty new dishes across our evening menu – for instance, a sunny plate of creamy whipped ricotta with homemade focaccia and a herb pesto makes a great start to your meal – though of course, you may prefer to kick things off with an old favourite, such as our Moules Marinière, made with mussels cooked in Greendale Scrumpy with cream and garlic, and served with crusty bread.

Moving on to mains, there are plenty of exciting new additions to try, from seafood to hearty meat dishes and vegetarian recipes. Fish fans will enjoy our grilled Lemon Sole - caught by our own boats and landed at nearby Brixham - served with Greendale Scrumpy butter, herb and fennel salad and fondant potato, while beef lovers will adore our new Beef Pithivier, featuring pastry-wrapped beef from our own herd, served with mashed potato, confit carrots and leafy greens. A contemporary twist on the traditional roast, our new Roast Chicken dish comprises a sliced chicken breast with napa cabbage, confit chicken leg and a soy and sesame sauce with kimchi ketchup. We’re also serving some delicious new vegetarian mains this season, including Shakshuka, with a poached Greendale free-range egg perched atop a Mediterranean-inspired tomato and vegetable stew, and Pappardelle in a spinach and herb sauce, finished with rocket and parmesan.
That said, there’s a reason why much-loved favourites remain on our menu year after year! From locally caught Lobster, halved and served with roasted garlic butter, salad and herby new potatoes, to a prime Greendale 8oz Sirloin Steak with chips, grilled tomato and field mushroom, rest assured that we’ll always offer our most popular dishes, striking the right balance between established favourites and new offerings.
DRINKS
Following feedback from our customers, we’re updating our low- and no-alcohol drinks selection this year. Whether you’re the designated driver, prefer to avoid alcohol or just want to see what all the fuss is about, we understand the growing importance of great-tasting drinks without the alcohol. Alongside reliable favourites, like Peroni 0% and Cornish Doombar Ale 0%, we’re really pleased to offer 0% Red Zero Cider from Sandford Orchard, produced in nearby Crediton, and Darkness 0.5% stout from local legends, Exeter Brewery. We’ve updated our wine list, too, to include alcohol-free Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from Divin, and 0% Chardonnay from De Martino.
OFFERS
We’re running our popular weeknight special offers again this year, from 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesday nights, enjoy a burger, chips and a drink for £14; on Wednesdays we're offering 2 for 1 on our delicious fish of the day and chips; and on Thursday nights, steak lovers can enjoy 20% off selected Greendale prime beef steaks.
We’re currently also offering our special 32oz Greendale Tomahawk sharing steak for just £75 for two. This prime bone-in Greendale beef steak is a true show-stopper; cooked to your liking, it’s served alongside new potatoes, roasted seasonal vegetables, tomatoes and mushrooms with a creamy peppercorn sauce.
