Swanaford was planted in 2013 by Ben and Caroline Goulden after moving from London, with the goal of producing exceptional English sparkling and still wines. A team of experts planted the vines in a single day, but the real challenge began when the team left, and the couple had to nurture 10,000 vines themselves. With viticulture qualifications in hand, they faced a steep learning curve, and after nine years, the vineyard is thriving. In 2017, they built a bespoke tasting barn to welcome visitors, share their journey, and showcase their wines. Moving forward, they plan to collaborate with local food and wellness experts to offer unique experiences for visitors.
